Nikonian {#1}

For the past few days, I've been busy for a coupe of events. First, Debbie invited me to shoot a weeding ceremony at southern part of the Metro, I will be his backup shooter and of course she's the primary shooter for this event. Not as lucky as we expected because both of us are not well prepared enough for this event. We both have no speedlight to use for this particular event and sad to say even the third shooter has no speedlight to use. Squeezing our camera settings to the max, using all lights that are available in the place and moving up/down for the ISO button.

At the end we still manage to get some nice shots even with the light issues encountered. Debbie make the best of it, from brides house up to the ceremony and even in the reception hall. Capturing the moments while sweating a lot is very much challenging. So here it is, showing Debbie taking a shot for a little kid (just after the wedding).

The following day after the wedding event, I need to attend also in our group training event conducted at one the NIA's conference hall. The group event is known as Redhat EL5 Administration training. It's a two-day event in which I attend only the last day to take some shots. Once again I captured the Nikonian shooters, Joel and his girlfriend JV.

New looks of my playground PDF Print E-mail

Howdy, I've just released the new look of this playground of mine. Since I started working on this update I can't really decide on what things should I include. I just don't know how to acquire more traffic like others do in their blogs/websites, but this is just me doing no good things on my boring time. You can also check the About page to know more about this new website release.

I am thinking about integrating my career and hobby in one place. It is also very difficult for me since this hobby of mine is still fresh in my bloodstream and still as "always" in the process of learning.

Thanks for visiting and wasting of your time reading some of my written works based on my experiences. I don't get payment for doing this so please have time to get used to it. :}.

Windows Server 2008 Core installation with AD DS Role PDF Print E-mail

Whenever I have the chance to learn new Microsoft stuff, I always use Virtualization to minimize the use of hardware and to maximize the capabilites of my machine. For now, I want to experience the Hyper-V feature of Windows Server 2008. In order for me to get this done I grab one of my XW4600 machine and downloaded a 64-bit evaluation copy of Windows Server 2008, yes 64-bit is required to install the Hyper-V feature. I also used the final release of Hyper-V.

After completing the initial task, I've created my virtual machines. Installed Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition - Core. It was a straight forward installation, on the first login you are asked to change the default password. After changing the password it will setup your desktop and you'll see only an open command prompt console. That's it no clickable icons, no start button...you need to go back to MS DOS age while working on a high tech environment.

The next thing we will do is to configure our Core Installation of Windows Server 2008 and install Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) but prior installing the said services you need to install first the Integration Services, in that case you can fully utilized the full functionality of your guest operating system.

Before we proceed with the AD DS installation process we'll check some best practices. We need to check if the naming convention is align with the other servers. Rename if needed.

VMWare Infra 3

April 1, 2008 I started to work with my VI3 project, in which i'll be needing for my review and to know more about the different technologies in it. Last month I received an phone interview and they are looking for a n IT guy capable to managed 28 host and 200 guest utilizing the VI3 technology. I didn't have the guts to send my updated resume even if i do have skills with GSX and VMWare.

This time I need to learn more of it, I have already my own VI3 laboratory in which it will serve as my testing environment and do what I want to do, without causing any downtime with our production servers.

Memory Jogger II

Yesterday, I've attended my Project Business Improvement (PBI) training at SMPC. Before the training started, our facilitator showed us this 'Memory Jogger' booklet which will be the price for whosoever finishes first in solving the case studies. During the whole duration of the class, our team is the last to complete two instances of modules, but we still manage to complete the whole phases of the case studies. Guess what? Our team is lucky enough to be the first team to complete the whole DMAIC process.

The class training started at 8:45AM and ended at around 6:30PM. I learned much on this training and I thank my sponsor, actually he's my Manager.
